Rosacea Treatment

Rosacea is a common but misunderstood condition that begins as erythema (flushing and redness) on the central face and across the cheeks, nose, or forehead. Rosacea is consistent with small blood vessels visible near the surface of the skin, some permanent redness with red bumps (papules) with some pus filled (pustules) typically lasting 1-4 days, and an enlargement of the nose (rhinophyma). Although there is no cure, professional and medical help is available to control the signs and symptoms of this potentially life-disruptive disorder.

Certain triggers can cause an onset of Rosacea. Some known triggers are: exposure to extreme cold or heat, strenuous exercise, sunburn, stress, cold wind, alcohol, caffeine, and spicy foods.

Daily use of UVA and UVB sun protection is crucial.
