Dermaplaning is a quick and easy procedure that exfoliates the skin’s epidermis and removes any fine vellus hair, commonly referred to as “peach fuzz.” Vellus hair is primarily found on the face, on the cheeks and underneath the ears. This treatment is appealing to a variety of people with different skin types since it is a minor procedure without any adverse effects and does not require any downtime.

 

The treatment involves our aesthetician using a sterile, surgical scalpel to gently “shave” the skin's surface to remove the top-most layer of dead skin as well as the vellus hair/peach fuzz. After the treatment, the client will use a skin specific serum and sunscreen to protect the fresh skin. People who benefit the most from Dermaplaning are individuals with rough, dry skin or with superficial hyperpigmentation, mild acne scarring, fine lines or wrinkles. The treatment results in a much smoother, refined, glowing appearance.

After a Dermaplaning treatment is completed, we typically perform a skin specific micropeel followed by Cryotherapy (ice balls) to close pores, tighten skin, and stimulate collagen. The final step uses a skin specific serum and sunblock to protect the skin.
