Time To Heat Things Up

Who's ready to get their skin looking the best it's ever been?!

In honor of Laser Season, I felt like this was the perfect opportunity to go over some of the amazing Lasers we offer here at Charleston Aesthetics and the differences between them.

You might be wondering "Why is it called Laser Season”. Most, if not all laser treatments have strict pre and after-care instructions to avoid sun exposure, which can be difficult during the summer months. The reason for this is because sun exposure increases possible side effects. When your skin is exposed to the sun before or after a laser session, there is a high possibility of increased dark spots (hyperpigmentation) or (hypopigmentation) light spots and these pigment problems can be quite difficult to correct. It can also cause your skin to become hypersensitive to the treatment causing your skin to react in a negative way.

The most important reason for avoiding sun exposure especially is because lasers cannot differentiate the difference between tan skin and pigmentation. Therefore, the laser could target your tanned skin instead of the pigment; causing hypopigmentation (removal of melanin) which is irreversible.

So all that to say, when the cold season comes around, its game on for repairing the skin.

Which one of these lasers have you had done or have been interested in getting done?

  • IPL (Intense Pulse Light)

  • Laser Hair Removal

  • CO2

  • CoolPeel

IPL (Intense Pulse Light)- Photo rejuvenation refers to the use of Intense Pulsed Light to treat conditions related to sun-induced skin damage. IPL uses a broad spectrum of light which is primarily absorbed by melanin and oxyhemoglobin and is effective in reducing the appearance of sunspots, capillaries, elastosis and fine lines and more! IN SUMMARY

Laser treatments can improve your overall appearance by treating minor to moderate flaws of the face and body using either ablation or light therapy, typically delivered using a fractional laser. The most common post-service outcomes are improved complexion, more even skin tone, reduced scarring and some skin tightening. Laser treatments are not Ideal for everyone. It is recommended to book a consultation prior to any laser appointment to verify that you are a right fit for the treatment.

THE END.
